Additive Manufacturing Technology
Moreld Apply has established an Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence, with a strong focus on leveraging advanced technologies such as 3D printing, scanning, and on-demand production. This initiative is a key strategic priority to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen sustainability. By adopting additive manufacturing, we can produce complex components with greater flexibility, shorter lead times, and lower environmental impact, delivering smarter and more cost-effective solutions for our projects.

Prototype 3D Printer Available

We have an in-house 3D printer (plastic polymer) located at our Moseidsletta facility in Stavanger, available for producing prototype models. Customers are welcome to visit us and explore its capabilities. If you would like to try it out, please get in touch.

What is AM?

Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is a production method where materials are built up layer by layer to create a finished component. This contrasts with traditional manufacturing methods that often involve removing material from a larger piece. The technology allows us to produce complex geometries that were previously impossible or very costly to make.

Advantages

  1. Increased efficiency: Reduces production time and increases flexibility in the production process.
  2. Flexibility: Simplifies prototype production.
  3. Cost savings: Reduces material waste and production costs.‍
  4. Sustainability: Reduces CO2 emissions and energy consumption by using less material and energy in the production process.
