Kvitebjørn today has the same design for bundles in the re-compressor train as at start-up. Since production has declined and the field has entered a low-pressure production phase, the re-compressor train is currently operated with anti-surge valves with a significant opening.

The opening will also increase in time as pressure and production will be further reduced. This represents an energy loss that can be avoided by revamping the compressors so that they can be operated with the anti-surge valves closed.​

Scope of Work​

  • Re-bundling of all re-compressors (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th stage)​
  • Change gear box internals for 3rd/4th stage re-compressor ​
  • Replacement of internals in all connected anti surge valves​
  • Modification of the lubrication oil system for 3rd/4th stage re-compressors​
  • Replacement of venturi upstream 1st stage re-compressor, and transmitter attached​
  • Updating anti surge controller for all compressors.​
